Agreeing the scope
Your proposal will set out the agreed visits, advice arrangements and deliverables. Additional projects or specialist assessments can be quoted separately. Appointing an external adviser supports your arrangements; the employer retains responsibility for managing health and safety.

Can you work alongside our internal safety manager?
Yes. We agree how our support fits with your internal team, including who commissions work, approves documents and follows up actions.
Do we receive visits as well as remote advice?
The balance is agreed around your risks, location and support needs. Your proposal will specify the included visits and remote work.
Is this the same as Leadership Protection?
Competent Person support focuses on ongoing health and safety assistance. Leadership Protection adds structured support for directors’ responsibilities and oversight. They can be combined in one agreed programme.
